Symbol sync

Reading the focused symbol from your trading platform.

How symbol sync works

Symbol sync watches a small region of your screen, reads the text in it, and sends the symbol to your TraderReflex session. The panel subtitle describes it plainly: screen region, system text recognition, and a push to the hub.

The point is that Rigor should follow what you are actually looking at. Typing the symbol into two applications is a step you will stop doing by the third day of a busy week.

Setting it up:

  1. Choose the Monitor by clicking one of the previews. Refresh monitors re-detects displays.
  2. Select region and drag over the part of your platform that shows the active symbol. Choose the tightest region that contains only the ticker.
  3. Use Preview and Capture to confirm the region reads correctly. The panel shows both the Raw text it saw and the Filtered result.
  4. Adjust the filters if needed: Allow lowercase, Allow digits, and Allow - ( ) : . These stop stray punctuation from being read as part of a ticker.
  5. Start auto capture begins continuous sync, marked Live. Stop ends it.

Detected symbols shows the recent readings, newest on the right, so you can see whether it is tracking correctly. The Activity log records capture, recognition, and send events, which is where you look when a symbol did not arrive.

The first run needs an operating system permission for screen capture, granted to TraderReflex Bridge in your system privacy settings. Without it, capture returns nothing. Symbol sync also needs the hub connected; if it is not, the log says the symbol was not sent.

How Symbol sync works in the panel gives the in-app version of this explanation.
