Guided setup

The questionnaire that builds a starter plan.

How guided setup works

Guided setup builds real strategy entities from your answers. It is not a tutorial; each completed group of questions writes an actual target, rule, vow, setup, check-in, process step, or partner into your plan.

How it behaves:

  • Questions come in sequence, labelled Question n of m, with recommended ones marked.
  • Back and Continue move through them, Finish completes a section, and Skip for now passes on a recommended question.
  • Finish later leaves the wizard and keeps your position, so you can resume from the banner that appears afterwards.
  • A preview panel shows the entity being built as you answer, so you can see what your answers will create before it exists.
  • Progress is shown as a percentage of recommended questions, and the end state is Setup complete.

Skipping is a first-class option. It is better to leave a section open than to invent an answer, because an invented rule still gets scored.

What each section produces

The wizard has eight sections. Each one is marked as in strategy, partial, or open, so you can see at a glance where the gaps are.

SectionWhat it asksWhat it creates
Strategy basicsName and description of your approachStrategy identity
TargetsWhether you want a 30 day profit and loss target and a 30 day win rate target, and at what levelTimeframe targets linked to the matching metrics
RulesTrading hours, price range, maximum daily loss, maximum trades per day, maximum losing trades, maximum order size, maximum position, and averaging downOne rule per question you answer, with the right type and scope already set
VowsA discipline vow and optionally a patience vow, with a date rangeVows
SetupsYour primary setup and optionally a second oneSetups, with the first marked preferred
Check-insWhether you want a pre-trade readiness form and an end of session reviewCheck-ins with sensible starter questions
ProcessPre-market, pre-trade, and post-trade stepsProcess steps, with the pre-trade check marked mandatory
AccountabilityYour pledge and a first partnerPledge and supervisor

The rules section is the reason to run the wizard even if you dislike questionnaires. Maximum daily loss, maximum losing trades, and no averaging down are the rules experienced traders wish they had written earlier, and the wizard sets their scope correctly, which is the fiddly part.

After finishing, review what it created and delete anything you do not believe. Then commit.
