The sidebar, view states, tabs, and finding your way.
The sidebar
The left sidebar is the map of your workspace. It lists the screens available to you, grouped into categories such as Strategy, Rigor, Evaluation, Insights, Community, Support, Landing, and Tools.
What is in it depends on your plan and on your own layout, so two accounts can look quite different. Screens your plan does not include are shown as restricted rather than hidden.
Controls:
- The logo collapses and expands the sidebar (Collapse sidebar, Expand sidebar).
- The process step navigation appears at the top when a process is defined. See the Process chapter.
- The Process features and All features toggle narrows the list to what the current process step needs.
- Assistant opens the assistant panel, with the keyboard shortcut shown.
- The avatar menu holds User Profile, Settings, and Log out.
Small indicators are worth knowing: a dot on the feedback inbox means there is an unread reply, and a dot on Strategy means you have uncommitted changes.
On a narrow screen the sidebar collapses into a header with a control to open it.
View states and tabs
Each entry in the sidebar is a view state: a named screen made of a grid of components. That is why this documentation describes panels rather than pages. The Rigor checklist, a KPI card, and the trades table are all components, and any of them can be placed on any screen.
Related view states can be grouped so they appear as tabs across the top of the content area. The dashboard variants and the Review letter and evidence pair work this way.
One consequence: your workspace is per user and can be rearranged. If a panel described here is not on your screen, it may simply not be placed in your layout, and you can add it. See the next topic.
The App Map component, when placed, draws a visual map of the screens available to you. It is worth putting somewhere until you know the product, and it is a reasonable target for an Action step in your process.
